Lonesome Road

 Lonesome road
beneath city lights
past urban mysteries
through rural plights

I  need to drive
all alone
radio full blast
just music and the road

Pack my roots
in the back
leave behind
Boo Radley’s shack
and baggage under
a moon gone black

Every name can’t
stay lost
I’ll remember
whatever the cost

But I will drive
in any direction
fast as I want
staving off reflection

for now.
